Arvind Panagariya is a prominent Indian economist known for his contributions to international trade, development economics, and public policy.

Born on September 30, 1952, in Rajasthan, India
– Earned his B.A. in Economics from Rajasthan University.
– Completed his M.A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics.
– Received his Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University (1981) under the supervision of Jagdish Bhagwati.
Academic Career:
– Professor at Columbia University (since 1992), where he holds the Jagdish Bhagwati Professorship in Economics.
– Former Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank (2007–2009).
