The Centre for Civil Society and the ERC Trust organized the B R Shenoy Memorial Lecture 2021 on 3rd December 2021 at 4:30 PM IST. In this lecture, Prof Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the Economist and Author discussed “Lessons from 1991 for 2021: New Economic Reforms for Renewing India“.
This lecture is a part of the annual B R Shenoy Memorial Lecture Series, which aims to memorialize Prof Shenoy’s ideas and policies through talks by speakers from India and abroad, including leading academics, policy experts, and public officials.

Prof B R Shenoy Memorial Lecture 2020 by Dr. Bibek Debroy

The Centre for Civil Society and the ERC Trust organized the B R Shenoy Memorial Lecture 2020 on 10th December 2020 at 5:30 PM IST. In this lecture, Dr Bibek Debroy, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) discussed “The Roots of Reform: Prof B R Shenoy and the economic ideas that changed India“.

Prof B R Shenoy Memorial Lecture 2019 by Dr Parth J Shah

The B R Shenoy Memorial Lecture of 2019 was held on 14th December 2019 at the Meeting Hall of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mangalore. Dr Parth J Shah, President of Centre for Civil Society – Delhi, spoke about the Sustainable Economic Growth – How India Can Grow Faster.

Prof B R Shenoy Memorial Lecture 2018 by Dr Geeta Gouri 

 

 

In this Lecture, Competition Law and Policy in India – Perspectives and Challenges organised on 27th July 2018, in honour of the late Prof B R Shenoy, Dr Geeta Gouri, a former Member of the Competition Commission of India, New Delhi and a distinguished fellow of India Development Foundation talks about the Perspectives and Challenges of Competition Law and Policy in India with the help of case studies of the Competition Commission. This lecture gives us an understanding of how an investigation takes place. She also conveys that the most important point is to approach the Commission for redressal regarding competition as the Commission’s power is the same as that of the Civil Court.

A Lecture in Memory of Shri Nani Palkhivala by Late Shri Sunil S. Bhandare

The ERC, in association with the Nani Palkhivala Memorial Trust, Mumbai and the Forum of Free Enterprise, organized on 20 January 2014 in Mangalore, a lecture in memory of Nani Palkhivala, given by the distinguished corporate economic analyst Mr Sunil S Bhandare, former Economic Advisor  to  Tata Services Ltd. The talk was on Public Sector Wastage: Issues and Challenges; showed systematically that, although the present-day wastage scales are hugely different from those analyzed in the early writings of Prof B R Shenoy, the sources of wastage are quite similar. Mr Bhandare succinctly summarized the issues and challenges, and their policy implications.
